PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS AND EFFICIENCY ENHANCEMENT OF BOILER

SITE : 210 MW BOILER AT METTUR THERMAL POWER STATION

PERIOD: 3 MONTHS

This project is based on increasing the efficiency of boiler by various methods. One of those methods is changing the taping system for scanning sensors used inside the furnace.

This system does not require any scanner air motors and fans and hence the auxiliary power consumption of suction motor is saved. As the system works on the basis of direct tapping and discharge of air, there are no chances of outages. Also, we have proposed a new design for the heat exchanger with increasing the number of tubes.

AUTOMATION OF GLOBE VALVE USING STEPPER MOTOR

I have designed a new system for automatic operation of globe valves used in processing units in textile industries. This system comprises a thermocouple sensor, a PLC unit, a stepper motor and a gear arrangement coupled with the valve.
