I help determine the methods, techniques, materials and devices best suited to obtain a smooth textured surface. I also ensure that surface coatings meet level and thickness requirements. I am able to mix tints, tones, coating materials to get the proper color, texture, consistency and the drying state by adding various agents. I check the viscosity of coating materials and thickness of coatings on surfaces. I have the knowledge to apply materials so that the surface meets or match texture, decorative, thickness and level requirements. I ensure that hazardous materials within my work area are handled within operating guidelines. I ensure that storage drums and other containers that house hazardous materials/waste are properly labeled and secured at all times. I wear the proper protective clothing and equipment. If there is an accidental spill I inform the supervisor. For the sandblasting items I helped to remove the old paint, scales, and other foreign matter by sanding or water pressure blasting. If there were metal parts, I used an abrasive to remove the rust. I had to make sure I was using the correct PSI, abrasive materials for the different types of woods, metals, blocks, bricks, and siding. I have the knowledge to paint tactical vehicle parts and other equipment have recently completed training in Bldg. 409 with Kenny Lee (trainer) painting tactical (tank) parts. I have knowledge of equipment assembly installation and repair; I can use a variety or measuring devices. I have the ability to assist in the breakdown and reassembly of items by production methods.

Duties include maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.

Assist in with dismantling and repairing defective truck parts, using over head hoist, various small hand tools, wrenches, screwdrivers, Pliers, Socket Wrenches and sockets, Etc. Power Tools Impact Wrench Air Compressors, Grinders, Repair or replace worn out tires. Routine inspection of the trucks and trailers to ensure proper DOT Requirements. Safely Operate Motor Vehicles to Deliver Supplies to appropriate departments. Receive and Issue Supplies. I perform field maintenance to mobile warehouse material handling equipment such as electric or gasoline forklift trucks, warehouse trailers, portable heaters, floor sweepers and straddle trucks. I determine when parts should be cleaned and reinstalled or replaced with standard parts.
