7-1990 to Present Kings County Hospital: Social Work Supervisor/Clinical Instructor/Behavioral Health.

I have over twenty years of professional social work experience and I am a trained Social Work Field Instructor. As a member of a Psychiatric Multidisciplinary Treatment Team I have gained in-depth knowledge of program coordination, assisted in formulating policies and procedures, and program guidelines.

I have also gained the knowledge and skills in implementing those guidelines and procedures to ensure the appropriate delivery of services, patients’ and staff’s safety and to enhance the patients’ recovery and wellness.

I provide orientation, support, and supervision to social workers, case workers and social work students during their field placement. I am also involved in the orientation and training of psychiatric and psychology interns, externs, and fellows. I provide consultation on cases that are deemed difficult and address educational and discharge matters with various governmental and community agencies and other professional disciplines to further enhance the patients’ recovery, wellness and discharge plans.

Organize and prioritize my duties to adhere to several deadlines for the preparation and presentation of weekly and monthly verbal and written reports. These reports are utilized by several departments in the hospital, family and mental courts, governmental and community agencies. As a supervisor I also complete annual evaluation for my supervisees and address staff related issues in a productive manner and acknowledging each staff member’s areas of strength and areas for improvement.

As a therapist I provide counseling with an emphasis on prevention, wellness and recovery, working with individuals and groups to promote optimum mental health with an emphasis on avoiding readmission, empowering individuals and families to safely function in their communities, help individuals with issues regarding separation, loss, addictions and substance abuse; family, parenting, and marital problems; suicide; stress management; problems with self-esteem; and issues associated with aging and mental and emotional health. I also worked with several disciplines to formulate service plans and prepared written reports at various intervals.

V.9-1998 to 12-1998- Adjunct Professor Long Island University.

Social Work Professor for one semester. I Taught Human Behavior in The Social Environment three time per week for one hour. I also conducted a class trip to a psychiatric unit to assist the class in gaining more in-depth understanding of behavior manifestations.

VI.4-1997 to 7-1998 --Brookdale Hospital Medical Center Home Care Department.
