Patient Assistance Program Coordinator (PAP)

Supervise stat lab that runs blood glucose, Hgb A1C, hematocrits, urinalysis dipstick and microscopy, hemocults, and stat PTINR. I also train new personnel to be proficient in maintaining the lab and analyzing accurate testing. I have written policies and procedures including OSHA standards/policies. I am also a member of the Clinical Capacity Committee and I act as the Safety Administrator by maintaining monthly updates of our fire extinguishers and record keeping for all incoming chemicals and hazardous materials.

I have a second position separate from the Laboratory Supervisor. This second position is the PAP coordinator for the pharmacy at MERCI Clinic. Working with the Pharmacy and the Pharmacy Manager, I advocate for patients at MERCI Clinic so they consistently receive medications that they would not otherwise be able to afford due to lack of insurance and income. I work closely with the pharmaceutical companies to maintain each patient’s monthly doses of medications and make sure new applications are submitted for the patient at the end of the year/expiration of current applications. I maintain inventory along with a monthly update of all medications ordered and distributed to each patient and ensure that each patient receives refills on a consistent basis.
