SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST, BIS COZUM CONSULTING

I have been worked as a senior business analyst for "Human Resources" software program which is purchased by UniCredit Bank Italy. UniCredit Bank has been using SAP for HR services. It is a transformation project from SAP HCM to BIS Cozum HR Software Program (ProStaff). Our client-UniCredit has emphasized that SAP HCM is not user friendly and very time-consuming and costly to make developments in the program. That’s why our client has decided to change their HR program.

ProStaff consists of Employee, Organisation, Learning, Time Management and Payroll modules mainly. I have generally worked on Payroll and Time Management module developments.

As a summary, I can list my responsibilities as seen in below:

Analyze client’s business requirements and processes through document analysis, interviews, workshops and workflow analysis.

Engage client to gather software requirements/business rules, ensure alignment with development teams and assist in executing project life cycle (SDLC).

Prepare FDD (Functional Design Document) and customization document for technical team.

Draw SWIM Lane diagrams with MS Visio for showing business processes.

Draw screen sketches and mockups.

Prepare presentations by MS Power Point to report the projects’ improvements and constraints.

Create necessary parameters and make dictionary definitions.

Work closely with technical team during development sessions.

Conduct functional, regression, user acceptance (UAT), integration and performance tests to verify the client’s needs are met.

The other contributions I made for BIS Consulting are:

Business analysts had never used SQL till I started to work for this company. When I started to work and recognize that business analysts did not have the read-only access to use SQL program. I immediately got permission from the managers and provided all business analysts with the installation of SQL Navigator. After that, I gave short SQL trainings to the business analysts. Thus, business analysts could analyze the requirements and solve problems easily.

ProStaff HR program did not have data integrity and consistency among the Payroll, Time Management, Employee, Contract and Organization modules. I recognized that deficiency in the program. I have launched a work to clear up the deficiencies by conducting meetings with module managers and business analysts.

MAY 2013 – NOVEMBER 2017

BUSINESS ANALYST, ZIRAAT TEKNOLOJI

I have worked as a senior business analyst at the "Deposits and Money Transfers" team under "Core Banking Department". I have conducted developments in the line of bank demands on money transfers and deposits transactions via the branch, internet banking, mobile banking, ATM and call center channels.

For that role my job description could be listed as below:

Clarify the scope of requests with the interviews with bank management team.

Execute test cases/scenarios and test scripts.

Facilitate business requirements gathering, project coordination, and coordinating user acceptance testing (UAT).

Coordinate research, analysis, development, testing, and implementation of interim and long-term processes and technology solutions.

Develop business systems and analytical support for the department databases, and interim technology solutions.

Responsible for time management and setting priorities and deadlines appropriately.

Write SQL queries for unit and UAT testings, and also for creating testing data.

A new coordinatorship was founded for a new core banking system for Ziraat Bank. There were 80 specialists selected from inside organization who are considered experts in their subjects. I have been selected for Money Transfer expertise. I have worked for this coordinatorship for six months.

Below are the roles that I worked for the New Core Banking Coordinatorship:

Write user acceptance scenarios for tasks in accordance with Product Owner’s demands.

Daily refresh and prioritize of new user stories / items added to the backlog (Jira).

Release co-ordination - working with tester; validating business features against requirements; getting sign-off from Product Owner; curating release notes.

Meet with third parties and capturing outputs and feeding these into the pipeline of work.

Conduct retrospective meetings and tracking team successes and opportunities at the end of a sprint with the Confluence.

Beyond the jobs I have done in above, the other important projects that I have involved are these:

Development of Donation Accounts for Presidential Bids

We have created donation accounts for presidential bids two months before 2014 Presidential Election. There was a daily, weekly and monthly maximum limit for donation amount for each person, we kept those amount in a parameter structure. Thus, daily, weekly or monthly maximum limit could be changed from the parameter without any development need.

Analysis and Development of New Saving Accounts

Some of the saving accounts that I have worked for their analysis/design and testings are listed in below. I explain their aims of development briefly.

Loyal Account

Although standard saving account can be opened for minimum six months term, loyal account can be opened for shorter terms. If customer wants to withdraw money from loyal account in the middle of the term, he/she does not lose the interests that gained from existing term.

Dowery Account

If customer opens a dowery account up to 24 years old and makes payment for minimum 3 years regularly, then he/she earns interest and also Turkish Government gives additionally %20 of his/her savings. But customer can take the Turkish Government additional saving if he/she gets married till 27 years old.

Housing Account

If Turkish citizen does not have any house on his/herself, then he/she can open a housing account. When he/she makes payment for minimum 3 years regularly, he/she earns interest and also Turkish Government gives additionally %20 of his/her savings.

Development of Parametric Foundation for Accounts

Before our development of parametric foundation for accounts, we had to make a lot of hard code changes. That was very time consuming and risky at the same time. After this development, new account can be created in a very short time without any coding.

Upgrading Electronic Fund Transfers’ (EFT) System According to The Developments of The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB)

All banking systems set their EFT systems according to the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey’s EFT system in Turkey. Because the core is TCMB which controls all EFT transactions. TCMB upgrades its EFT system at regular intervals. We have been in communication with TCMB. When they published their timelines for developments and going live, they were also planning our schedule according to TCMB’s timelines.

Development of Electronic Payment System (EOS) According to the rules of Central Bank of North Cyprus

Electronic Payment System (EOS) is similar to EFT, EOS is a transfer system between North Cyprus banks like EFT system. It is not a international money transfer way, like Swift of Western Union. However in EFT system money transfer can be made just with Turkish Liras, in EOS system money transfer can be made with Turkish Liras, Euro or Dollar. When that project has started, I participated to the meetings with Central Bank of North Cyprus in Lefkosa. I was in the team whom worked to launch the first EOS system for Ziraat Bank North Cyprus branches.

I have worked as a business analyst in the Clients & Markets department. I was conducting CRM management and online marketing projects. I developed the brand awareness raising campaigns on online marketing activities. As Deloitte Turkey, SAP consulting services had been taken from Deloitte Holland. The Henkel Innovation Challenge is an international innovation competition for students. Student teams from a total of 30 countries are invited to submit their innovative and sustainable ideas for the future. The best teams in each country are first invited to present their ideas to a jury of Henkel business managers in a national final in their country.

We, three friends, decided to participate to Henkel Innovation Challenge voluntarily. We named our team as PACESETTERS. We created a new product that will be a beneficial in 2050. We prepared our project in six months. In that period, we worked with chemical engineers to be create a realistic, also an innovation product. We were selected as one of the Top 7 teams of Turkey in the first election of competition. We were entitled to participate into Turkey National Final. In Turkey National Final, we selected as the fourth team. It was an incredibly exciting and challenging experience for us.
