Responsibilities
* Manage Laboratory & QC & QA Department.
* Integration. Verify and monitor proper fulfillment of contractual Quality Activities and committed requirements
through internal process audits and completion of readiness checks for Quality gates. Act as the key Client interface for all quality related issues and manage feedback to and from the customer, initially via the Project Manager and then through the relevant project specific communication channels. This also includes the effective management of Client complaints.
* Project Quality management: Ensure Non Conformity Requirements are being correctly identified, reported and managed. The QMIP will undertake root cause analysis and drive closure of the Corrective Actions via the Change Control Board and report effectiveness to the Business Unit Manager.
* Project Quality planning and control: Support to project teams in providing a timely accurate Quality plans
which are reviewed throughout the life of the project. In accordance with ISO 9001 / 18000 / 22000. The
overall impact should be pro-active and failure preventive. Reference to standard business related processes
shall be defined and reference provided to contractor quality plans where required.
* Project Supplier Quality Management: Planning & ensuring the required quality level of the project- specific supply chain intervention (internal & external) with the specific focus on availability of sufficiently detailed supplier Quality plans, Inspection and Test Plans, specifications. Conducts Project related Supplier inspections where appropriate.
* Audits and assessments: Undertake internal audits of key project activities (both office and site based) to verify adherence to the Americana Processes in accordance with ISO 9001 and Customer Quality requirements. The Quality Manager in Project (QMiP) shall also advise on the required interface processes to other parties to ensure the necessary consistency in standards required for the successful execution for that phase of the project.
* Support the project management in ensuring proper execution of the Quality Gate process by an active involvement in preceding readiness checks and participation in Q-Gate meetings, (b) verify execution of processes in accordance with the project Quality Plan and required/ expected quality criteria during process execution. Where a key quality criteria has not been fulfilled then the QMiP will not release the related milestone, Quality Gate or other deliverable.
* Focused, regular and direct quality reporting: Produce regular Quality status reports to project management, Business Unit Management and Regional QM and other defined parties based on determined KPI ́s, This includes management, reporting and investigation NCRS and results of cause-effect analysis of quality problems to all affected or involved. Where necessary situations that endanger the successful execution of the project shall be escalation to the Project Manager, Divisional QM and -if relevant- head of related business.
* Continuous improvement: Review Trends from NCRS and provide comprehensive reporting into the Change Control Board. Facilitate root cause analyses and drive closure of any quality specific non- conformances and provide advice where required to assist the closure of non-conformances allocated to action holders within other business disciplines.
* Quality Standards in Processes/Projects: Ensuring compliance with stipulated processes and scheduled activities. These include, for example:
* Ensuring correct performance of the Quality Gate Process through active participation in the previous Readiness Checks and participation in the Q-Gate Meetings
* Ensuring compliance with processes stipulated in the Quality Plan, so that it is clear in advance that the required/expected level of quality is achieved during process implementation and project performance will be achieved.
If necessary, refusal to release the respective Milestone or Quality Gate or supplies/other activities. In such cases, immediate involvement of the project Manager is absolutely mandatory.
* Supervisory Responsibilities:
* Intervention and escalation to the responsible functional unit when guidelines/regulations, quality- relevant processes or objectives are not complied with. Where appropriate, this may involve obtaining expert opinions.
* Halting of processes, supplies, rendering of services after close collaboration with PM and/or the responsible functional unit.
* Access to all quality-relevant data, e.g., customer contracts, risk analyses, financial data, project plans/schedules, and agreed targets.
* Internal and external quality-relevant representation of the project.
* Focused, Regular and Direct Quality Reporting: Reporting of quality status to Project Management, the departmental QM and other agreed involved parties on the basis of stipulated KPIs, key data, and parameters. This includes reporting of quality-relevant events and the results of cause-and-effect analyses when quality issues are encountered. Furthermore, comprehensive communication of quality targets to all persons who are concerned or involved. Escalation of hazardous project situations to the Project Manager, the division’s QM and, where appropriate, the Division Manager of the respective division.
