ENGLISH/ITALIAN LINGUIST-TRANSLATOR-UNIVERSITY LANGUAGE INSTRUCTOR: I have always loved working with and teaching foreign languages in international, and academic contexts at the University of Udine, Italy, and at the Ca` Foscari University of Venice, Italy. I am a mother tongue American speaker with a C2 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) level of Italian, a B2 level of Spanish and a B1 level of German. The languages that come more naturally are definitely Italian and English, which I mainly use as a freelance translator with the following expertise areas: Marketing Communications, Information Technologies, Technical and Industrial, Medicine, Journalism, Automotive, Website translations, Literature, Media, and Humanities.

I am always looking for new translation project opportunities. UNIVERSITY ENGLISH INSTRUCTOR TO ITALIAN AND OTHER INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: I have been teaching academic English to University students in Italy since 2002 while developing and/or adapting foreign language instructional material to the vocabulary based requirements. My preferred teaching method is the communicative approach while incorporating educational technology and blended learning activities. Moreover, I have a successful experience in organizing and explaining specific, didactic materials in ways appropriate to students with differing abilities, levels of preparation, and cultural experiences while consistently monitoring students` progress by means of proficiency-based assessments and continuous drilling. My responsibilities are to teach the students how to write scientific articles in English regarding their specific, linguistic field at an academic level with perfect grammar skills by means of blended lessons and strong English/Italian translation skills. Furthermore, we read and translate scientific articles from Italian to English regarding food and science technologies so as to enrich their vocabulary with the necessary, scientific words thus, there is a strong focus on vocabulary-based and proficiency-based English teaching. I also make them read and translate scientific articles regarding their specific field so as to improve the scientific vocabulary thus, I deliver vocabulary and task-based courses with regular assessments. I also had them read and translate medical articles so as to build up the specific, scientific/medical terminology while concentrating, by means of IPA, on the correct pronunciation.
