Managing approx. 180 people through daily events for three separate shifts, across many different functions/crafts and throughout the property, from the floor to the service track

Material management including inventory management via data logs and proficiency with company specific software

(Oracle and Eservices)

Logistics management involving distribution of material between shop floor, repair point and offsite facilities including coordination, shipping and receiving

Lead materials person on site including complete warehouse reorganization and flow, along with onsite inventory verification

Level 1 Materials Certification within 6 months of hire date

Level 1 Technical Certification

Responsible for technical oversight of GE locomotive repair and maintenance consultation, guidance and technical assistance

Ability to manage material including getting correct parts to facility in a timely manner, stocking correctly, managing inventory monies, complete reorganization of materials warehouse

Responsible for quality control of product prior to it leaving the shop even when customer was pushing for unit to be released

Developing a plan for the next days’ work to reduce stress on customers, colleagues and shop personnel

Ability to finish quality audits and safety briefings in a timely manner

Introduction of new parts, tooling and ideas to customer

Responsible for product sales and service and upselling new technology to client

Customer relations including dealing with craft and supervisors

Time-management of required computer work and time on the floor assisting craft and conducting quality control to release locomotives after maintenance and repair completion

Management of 5-20 locomotives and repair options at one time
