I am a diverse professional with a broad background in product design, development and analysis. For the past nearly 10 years, I’ve been integral in the design and development of products used in downhole applications – initially in 2008 for TorqueLock Corporation, out of Conroe, and more recently for U.S. Steel, which purchased, TorqueLock in 2013. I have a total of 18 years of experience using a multitude of CAD/CAE software’s, along with 8 years of experience in stress analysis, utilizing FEA software, checking against calculations developed in Excel and 4 years of business management experience.
Over the years, I’ve contributed to several products that have gone to market, many of which are still in use today. You’ll find I’m committed to delivering the highest-quality products; I know well the gravity of a product failure in the field, and this is reflected in the attention I give each design/project. collaborated with PhD's, PE's and specialists, reviewing specifications and other data to develop mechanical layouts and models. I have experience with design of mechanical parts, using computer- aided design (CAD/CAE) with programs such as AutoCAD, Solidworks and catia as well as analytical
(FEA) software, Abaqus.
Participated in the full product development life cycle, from prototype concept, manufacturing, ISO CAL I-IV as well as API RP 5C5 testing, to the final deliverables for a $125M contract.
Developed product designs with spreadsheets, designed tooling, setting standards and gages, drawings, and preformed FEA analysis, looking at combined loads, tension, compression, internal and external pressure, thermal loads, and bending as well as torque calculations.
Developed products to meet specific client needs, including remaining gas-tight through multiple thermal cycles and enduring thermal shocks.
Played key role in developing an expandable connection for casing, enabling 30% expansion and remaining gas-tight pre- and post-expansion.
