Professional Experience

Registered Nurse, PRN, Washing Radiology Associates 4/2017 to present

I work in a very fast pace radiology setting. I obtain a comprehensive history, perform intravenous insertion, phlebotomy, and monitor patient laboratory results for abnormal results, such as kidney function test. I carefully review patients' records for allergic reactions and provide premedication instructions as needed. I verify pregnancy test for women of childbearing age, I obtain and record vital signs. I administer oral barium and intravenous contrast for CT Scans. I monitor the patients during the scan for allergic reactions to contrast dye. I assist with virtual colonoscopies, and cardiac scoring. I maintain the code cart and update it as needed. I serve a resource nurse for mammography, ultrasound, MRI, and X-ray technologists. I assess wounds for bleeding after a biopsy. I clarify orders with physician offices as needed. I protocol each patient with the Radiologist prior to scanning.
