1. Cell Propulsion Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore FEB 2017-MAY 2017 Project Intern

Thermo-structural design of automotive battery packs. The project involved designing the layout of cells in the battery pack to create separate modules, designing the busbar, outer casing of the pack, cooling systems for the battery pack, thermal and structural analysis of entire assembly for different boundary conditions.

1. Conversion of Heat potential of heated metal cutting zones into electricity by means of thermocouples April 2015 - August 2015

The various heat zones of the machining processes are studied and the heat distribution is analysed. The potential heat zones are noted down and thermocouples are at various junction and then the thermocouples are installed at those location to extract energy. Theoretical calculations are carried out to determine the electromotive force.

2. Design of a Refrigerator based Water heating system Oct 2015 - Feb 2016

The refrigerator is redesigned so that the condenser coils are immersed in water. The refrigerant exchanges heat with water and water temperature rises by upto 10 degrees also this system enhances the COP of the refrigerator.

3. Exhaust gas heat recovery using shell and tube heat exchanger (experimental and CFD analysis) To design a system for extraction of heat from exhaust gases using water as working fluid, a STHE was designed for this purpose. The exhaust gas from a single cylinder 4-S diesel engine was used as heat source. The system was enhanced using CFD analysis on ansys fluent and experimental verification was done.
