Job Title: Safety Tech
Duties: Conduct safety meeting every morning before the start of the work day with staff, drive from jobsite to jobsite at Citgo checking work sites to make sure employees are wearing proper PPE, and also making sure that employees are practicing safe work habits, inspect job site for potential hazards, review permits, barricade, barricade tags and all other required paperwork. Ensure the safety training and all required training is provided for all employees. Do orientations with new hires as well as review safety handbook, issue out PPE, and assign harness with SRL. Communicate with the other safeties at the facility, once a week all the contractor safety gets together and audit different jobsites. Conduct accident/injury investigations and coordinate illness exposure monitoring. Make sure all employees are aware and understand Hazcom, Exposures (Lead, Asbestos, NORM, etc.), Hazard Assessment, PPE Program, Chemical Hygiene Plan, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry Program, Emergency Action Plan. Coordinate and monitor program for reporting and investigating all “near miss” situations. Provide safety classes/meetings on “Goal Zero” orientation, and “Stop the Drop”. Develop positional training requirements for all positions at Brock, ensure that the specific training is made accessible. Administration of regulatory agency logs and forms for safety reporting, including OSHA required forms. Maintain information pertaining to the overall performance of the Company in regards to safety. The Different trades I currently work with throughout Citgo refinery at the moment are scaffold builders, insulators, and painters.

Duties: working at Wal-Mart my duties ranged from checking customers out and bagging their merchandise, also worked in receiving where I learned how to operate and use a forklift to move merchandise on pallets to the other parts of the store, and also used a pallet jack and scissor lift to move merchandise when necessary while practicing safety procedures. Then I was promoted to the Wal Mart vision center where as an Optician, I would teach customers how to put contacts on, discuss options of contacts and glasses along with teaching and informing them about different lens options. I was also given the opportunity to be in charge of credit card applications, where I would ask customers if they would like to sign up for a Wal-Mart credit card and informing them about the card. I did so well in sales the store I worked at was #2 in the region and I was made employee of the month.
