Shaped team of 4 peers to design a winding machine that operates pneumatically to wind electric pokers

ME 5800 COMBUSTION ENGINES SEPT 2017 – DEC 2017

GT Power 4 cylinder SI Engine modelling

The focus was to optimize cycle work output and volumetric efficiency as a function of speed range and spark timing using GT Power

Determined the optimum spark timing for defined range of engine speed of 1000-5000 rpm.

Estimated optimum spark timing of -50 to 0 CAD with moderate throttling angle of 42 degree and calculated engine IMEP, brake efficiency, and cumulative energy loss over speed range

Determined optimum intake valve timing for same speed range with 45 CAD offset from TDC and calculated volumetric and overall efficiency as a function of intake valve timing and engine speed.

Designed an intake system to increase IMEP at higher engine speed by reducing imposed wall temperature and adding one more intake valve and determination of optimized L/D ratio. ME 5000 ENGINEERING ANALYSIS SEPT 2017 – DEC 2017

Mathematical modelling of Snubber force system

Designed a snubber force system used in mechanical and electrical applications using Mathematica

Determination of differential equation for snubber force with optimum boundary conditions for oscillation frequency.

Created Mathematica code for the mentioned system.

Investigated graphical nature of snubber with variation in external loading and frequency of oscillation. Reported best possible values for both with parametric graphs. ME 7820 ENGINEERING NON- DESTRUCTIVE METHODS AND APPLICATIONS JAN 2018 - APR 2018 Analysis of Spring Mass system with Absorber Response

Analyzed vibration motion of system using Matlab and computed all resonant frequencies and sketched mode shapes.

Investigated different values of masses for secondary system and recorded relative magnitude amplitude in order to get best possible value and also plotted the same against vibration of system using Matlab.

Computed different values of mass and stiffness to reduce the amplitude of system practically to zero.
