Personal History

Marisol Aragon was born and raised in El Paso, Texas U.S.A. and attended Coronado High School. She studied at El Paso Community College and graduated in 2004 with an Associates of Arts. She then attended the University of Texas at El Paso and received a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and a Masters of Education. Marisol wanted to be a nurse and help mankind, but later decided that she could help more individuals by teaching and by being a social worker. During her college years, she was able to do several educational and social service internships. At these internships, she was competent in helping children and the elderly in reaching their lifelong goals.

As a young child, Marisol loved to play with toy syringes that she filled with cherry kool-aid and injected into her dolls, saying that she wanted to make them feel better and have them stop crying. As she grew older she found herself always being the listener to her friends’ and families’ problems. When anybody had worries or problems, everyone knew who to turn to or look for.

After receiving her Associate of Arts, Marisol decided that she would best meet the needs of individuals by changing her major to Social Work instead of Nursing. Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Social Work, she then tried to pursue a Master of Social Work, but her school did not offer the program, so she then steered in the direction of Education, where she knew she could still help a large population, which she sincerely loves – children.
