COMMUNICATION SKILLS

While at Spirit of Adventure it was a requirement of instructor to give feedback on students to teachers in the form of feedback reports. This required me to get a firm understanding of the student’s leadership and teamwork abilities. I also had to give clear instructions to members of my group on activities we conducted as well as safety requirements for these activities. Furthermore at Al-Nur school I am required to contact suppliers on orders for the tuckshop. Ordering of resources for the schools stationary requirements as well as communicating with staff as to their yearly requisitions for stationary, including informing senior management on the progress of the orders. In terms of school plays it was necessary to communicate with students and teachers on how to improve upon aspects of the production. As well as conducting lessons with students and giving them instructions on how to complete tasks.

INITIATIVE

Managing the stalls of the school fete I had to solve issues that arose from individuals not being satisfied with the placement of their stalls. Running the tuckshop, I had to use my initiative in placement of orders. I needed to convey accurate messages to suppliers in terms of quatities needed. I was required to make decisions on these issues and take responsibility for these descisions.

COMMITMENT

While working at Al-Nur School there were many difficult tasks and problems that arose. From working during the day and attending evening classes to attain my degree. As a result of often having to work indepently and without supervision while working at both Spirit of Adventure and Al-Nur School. I have had an excellent oppurtunity to test my set of values. My values include honesty, patience, reliablity, inginueity and perpsective. While working at Al-Nur School a great deal of trust and responsiblity was placed in me by the Deputy Principal, Mrs. M. Cassim.
