Administrator of medical education for 600 house staff members and 62 program directors for the four hospitals of The University of Chicago Hospitals: Bernard Mitchell, Wyler Children’s, Weiss Memorial and Chicago Lying in. Developed and maintained 62 individual departmental budgets. Created policies and procedures between the four hospitals, their administrators, the physicians group and the house staff members. Developed, delivered and evaluated training programs for both the house staff members and the program directors. Managed all aspects of the National Residency Match Program. Member of Joint Commission for Hospital Accreditation Committee.

Responsible for obtaining and maintaining all classifications of visas. Established guidelines for all OSHA requirements. Marketed and recruited both students and house staff members rotating through all areas of the hospitals including, but not limited to, the neonatal intensive care unit, regional burn center, medical helicopter and all surgery suites. Wrote both on and off-site affiliation agreements for all departments. Contributed in the training of volunteers for the hospitals volunteer program.

Scientific Research:

-FAER (Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research) Educational Grant Proposal Acceptance. 1991

Co-investigator as a Research Assistance in the Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care that developed both the scientific techniques and the backgrounds of educational processes in anesthesia. The grant proposal addressed the important issue of why residents evaluate faculty the way they do or the mechanism causing the evaluation of performance to be either high or low. Helping to learn more about what makes good teachers and what allows them to transmit knowledge and the techniques of learning knowledge well.

-Co-Author; Does Conference Attendance By Residents Affect Their Test Scores? Published in Anesthesiology 9 1991, Vol.75.
