• Applied tissue engineering knowledge and methods to develop a bioresorbable cardiac valve: a new form of heart valve implant that allows for cell infiltration and long-term biodegradation, and outcompetes current market competitors in a number of areas. Produced initial prototypes for subsequent animal testing in collaboration with Dr. Hibino at JHU. Championed project for continuation as a capstone project for a team of 5 students at The George Washington University. Continued R&D at The George Washington University, developed computational and physical models for testing fluid dynamics within the valve and prototyped valve leaflet designs.

Adaptive Toy for Children with Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy

• Designed and constructed a specialized bead maze for children with Spastic Diplegia.

• Design incorporated custom 3D printed parts and circuits in order to meet requirements of clinician. Accomplishments

• Toy used in office of physical therapist to help improve mobility in children with Spastic Diplegia. Effect of Music Tempo On Brainwaves

• The effect of music tempo on a patient’s brainwaves was measured using an EEG. A positive correlation between high music tempo and increased brainwave activity was established. Clinton Global Initiative
