PROJECTS

Design of an Single Assembly Pangolin using additive manufacturing techniques October 2017 – December 2017

oThe project aim was to design something which would change form and shape through any means possible, but the design had to have some practical usage and had to incorporate the benefits of AM.

oThe design of a pangolin which I submitted had these aspects, with the entire product being printed in a single assembly (no parts) at one single time. It could change form through mechanical or electronic means.

Design Optimization using Genetic Algorithms October 2017 – December 2017

oThis project was aimed at using single and multiobjective genetic algorithms to solve a complex market based optimization problem which involved optimizing a product line, based on 400 respodent choice, for maximum market share, profit and revenue.

Design and Manufacturing of the base frame and rollcage of an autonomous vehicle EcoPRT May 2017- present

oDesigned the fixtures for manufacture of the roll cage and base frame.

oWorked on the design of the A – Arm fixtures

oCurrently working on the manufacture of templates and fixtures for inner trims.

oCurrently working on the process to convert this manufacturing process into a mass manufacturing scheme.

oDesigning the wiring harness and electrical placement of the vehicle.

Design of an Airfoil Wing using Composite materials April 2017 – May 2017

oDesign of an airfoil wing using standard available composite materials which was able to undergo standard conditions and a payload of 5pounds plus an air drone’s weight.

oUsed Solidworks to analyze the stresses on the wing and come up with a suitable design for the given conditions.

Finite Element Analysis of an existing Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine August 2016 – November 2016

oPerformed an FE Analysis of Vestas V90 Horizontal Axis Wind turbine and validated the constructed simplified model using ANSYS APDL for existing materials.

Multibody analysis of a ScrewJack and validation of a semi trailing arm suspension system January 2014 – April 2016

oUsing ANSYS MBD in WorkBench, performed an analysis on an existing Screwjack, and then performed a case validation on the failure of semi trailing arm suspension system of the university SAE BAJA vehicle.

Frugal Mechanism to determine the amount of area covered when operating tractors. January 2013 – April 2013

oThis project was carried out as part of an INNOVATION Contest (TechnoChamps 2013) by John Deere.

oThe project required a development of mechanism to get inputs from the on-board accessories and produce the desired output of area covered.

PUBLICATIONS:

oExperimental flow visualization for flow around multiple side-by-side circular cylinders at low Reynolds number:

This paper was published at the 40th National Conference on Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Machinery 2013 at NIT Hamirpur, India. This paper deals with the experimental flow visualizations and wake interactions of water at low Reynolds number. The experimental setup was initially designed and was tested for varying s/d ratios, and wake interaction was observed using dye.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

CAD Design: CATIA, UG NX, AutoCAD, Solidworks and Fusion

Additive Manufacturing software: Netfabb, GeoMagics, PreForm

Finite Element Analysis: ANSYS Workbench, ANSYS APDL and MATLAB

Product Assembly : GD&T, DFMA.
