Developed plant layout and installed production lines to manufacture contract office furniture. Manufacturing product to order using a 100% demand-pull system, Cellular process flows with zero work in-process inventory. Unit production of “one” was achieved. Reduced labor, material costs, and process throughput times of 66%, customers lead times by 70%. Specified and justified major capital expenditures and equipment rebuilds. Directed plant improvement projects while maintaining budget limits and keeping production on schedule. Sourced material suppliers and set up Kan-Ban supplies through vendor based consignment inventories. Managed engineering technical staff and plant maintenance department.

Industrial Engineer: Solved process and method problems to facilitate 50% increase in production volume by optimizing floor layout and product flow. Justified capital expenditures on new equipment and existing equipment rebuild. Developed and maintained production efficiency reports and instituted a production rewards program for employee-based teams that met production goals. This program was responsible for increased production of 50% in 16 months.

Technical Training Manager: Managed technical training staff and supervised the development and publication of various training manuals and an employee training program for the different technical work centers within the manufacturing of the RTA furniture.
