Project Experience

Power Panels Atwater Kent

Major Qualifying Project

May 2016-May 2017

In a team of four, Installed LED Panels within the Atwater Kent building that displays several features with emphasis on presenting power information from a solar panel to a charging station.

Programmed the media and features presented on the LED Panels through Processing and LEDStudio Software within the Odroid XU4’s Ubuntu Operating System.

Assembled the Magic Mirror through the Raspberry Pi’s Raspbian Operating System to allow users to control the power of the LED Panels in a convenient manner without having to access the LED Panel’s software. High-Performance RF Coaxial Cable Assembly and Test Station Electromagnetics

Jan-Mar 2017

Among a team of three, developed an interface capable of connecting an RF coil housed in a 9.4T magnet of a Magnetic Resonance scanner to a console that is at least distanced 10 meters away.

Used analytical calculations to determine the dimensions of the cable assembly to meet the specifications for Siemens Medical Systems.

Detailed a test protocol, cost analysis, and environmental contingencies in order to utilize the cable assembly within proper operation.

LED Anti-Scalding Device

Electrical and Computer Engineering Design

Mar-May 2016

Within a team of three, assembled a device capable of detecting scalding temperatures from a water faucet and warn users of extreme temperatures through an alert system.

Interviewed customers to prioritize product requirements and compared competitor products through value and cost analysis.

Designed the schematics and CAD drawings of the final product through AutoCAD and Multisim software. Soldered the components onto the PCB and attached it into the 3D printed product. MSP430 Function Generator

Embedded Systems in Engineering Design

Jan-Mar 2016

Utilized both of the MSP430’s built in Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) and Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) to create a simple function generator through Code Composer Studio.

Recorded the capabilities the function generator is able to produce in different DC values and in a square wave, sawtooth wave, and a triangle wave.

Compared and contrast the DAC and ADC results and allowed users to choose between the two converters when using the function generator.
