High Risk Areas of Oil Train Derailment

• The Phillips 66 oil company has asked permission from San Luis Obispo County to extend the rail spur in their Santa Maria Refinery, and thus increase oil transport through various rail lies in California from Canada. Most risk assessments are done after a disaster has occurred, therefore we opted for a weighted overlay model that would highlight the high risk areas in Los Angeles County in case of a train disaster. Human population, water bodies, and parks were all weighed in a model. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
