WORK EXPERIENCE detail

Senior Reservoir Engineer (Team Lead) (2/2012 – 4/2017)

Renaissance Offshore, Houston, TX

Estimated EURs and remaining reserves for PROV, PROB, and POSS offshore GOM shelf prospects and active properties. Reserves for drilling, recompletion, and workover opportunities estimated mostly using deterministic methods, with some probabilistic methods employed particularly for untested/not produced prospects. Open (including directional LWD) and cased-hole log analysis and creation of stratigraphic and/or structure cross sections. Some MDT (press) testing, fluid sampling and PVT analysis. PVT analyses reviews also done for Masters Thesis project. Worked with (contracted out to) Gemini our Worst Case Discharge (WCD) modeling using Merlin simulator.

Gus Alvarado, PE (cont’d)

Sr. Staff Reservoir Engineer (6/2011 – 1/2012)

Eagle Rock Energy, Houston, TX

Provided volumetrics and analog analysis to determine EURs and IPs for PUDs and PDNPs in Golden Trend Field (SCOOP area of OK) and Arkoma Basin (AR)

Provided Geology and Engineering support using PETRA EUR and/or Cum bubble mapping and log X-section module.

Performed deterministic DCA using hyperbolic methods to evaluate performance and EURs.

Performed probabilistic determination of EUR using Rose Risk uncertainty analysis methods

Evaluated PROVED, PROB and POSS assets of possible acquisitions candidates. (A&D)

Director, Reserves and Field Studies (1/2010 – 6/2011)

Knowledge Reservoir LLC (Consulting Firm), Houston, TX

Responsible for technical management of projects. As Project Manager or Reservoir Engineer performed for various clients the following projects:

oWorked with RE who used probabilistic methods (Crystal Ball) to assess resources in discovery well (Macondo, Mississippi Canyon area)

oEast Texas Cotton Valley (tight gas) 100+ well Field Study. Generated crude Buckles Plots from petrophysical data, estimated EURs using deterministic hyperbolic DCA mostly straight holes (some horizontal wells), and evaluated historical field performance with aid of PETRA cross sections and bubble maps.

oGenerated PROSPER, MBAL models to forecast 7 discovery fields, offshore Malaysia

o12-Field Waterflood Study, GOM

Staff Reservoir Engineer (10/2006 - 4/2009)

Dominion E&P/HighMount E&P, Oklahoma City, OK

Estimated unconventional reserves (tight gas Sonora Field, Val VerdeBasin) using Rose Risk Uncertainty Analysis tool, some RTA, some well modeling (VERTEX), volumetrics, mat balance (P/z) methods, and PETRA mapping/log cross-section software. Wells air drilled and completed mostly in Canyon Sd. Completions in Wolfcamp Shale were few as wells drilled vertically in 2006-2009; no horizontal wells at time.

Performed un-risked and risked economic evaluations using ARIES/MS Access.

Sr. Reservoir Engr./Sr. Gas Pipeline Facilities Engr (6/1988 - 10/2006)

The Williams (Transco Pipeline) Company, Houston, TX

FACILITIES ENGINEER:

Determined HP and pipeline loop requirements (hydraulic flow modeling) for pipeline expansion projects along the TX and LA Gulf Coast and the Atlantic seaboard. Cherokee Expansion and Momentum Expansion projects. 85 MMcf and 325 MMcf/d pipeline capacity added respectively.

Have good understanding of gas engine-recip compressors, gas turbine-centrifugal compressors (applicable to compressors in TX and LA Gulf Coast and offshore GOM)

RESERVOIR ENGR:

Managed Reserves and Deliverability for approximately 40 offshore fields (offshore Texas and Louisiana) and 20+ onshore fields (TX and LA Gulf Coast) all connected to Transco pipeline along South Texas (onshore). Performed DCA and P/Z analysis on the 20+ fields’ reserves dedicated to Transco; and minor field studies of same.
