CAREER SUMMARY

Senior Process/Mechanical Engineer with 28 years of experience in power generation, oil and gas industries. Extensive experience in both “Green Field” projects engineering/design/analyses /development and construction support, and as well as “Brown Field” capital/maintenance projects in operating power generation plants, oil and gas industry including conceptual design, feasibility study, FEED and Detailed Engineering. The work experience also includes technical specification, tender preparation, bids evaluation, contract negotiation, materials requisition/procurement, to construction support and coordination. In-depth knowledge of gas turbine, steam turbine, boilers/HRSG, condenser and BOP equipment such as pumps, compressors and heater exchangers. Major projects include:

Shanghai Shengneng – Combined Cycle Generating Unit Project

Senior Process / Mechanical Engineer for design of the single-shaft gas-steam combined cycle cogeneration plant with two power trains based on F class gas turbine AE94.3A (310MW). Prepared deliverables such as HMBs, P&IDs, PFDs, MSDs, LDTs and layout drawings. Reviewed process and mechanical calculations, gathered equipment specifications and MRs. Prepared bid evaluations for gas turbine, HRSG, steam turbine and other plant equipment.

2X235 MW Attarat Oil Shale Power Plant–Jordan

Engineering design of $2.1 Billion air cooling units with AFW’s CFB boilers and Siemens steam turbine project. Developing and delivering practical and economic mechanical designs to achieve the project objectives, Activities including: creating master deliverable list, input to project control and report systems, created discipline design criteria and design basis, resources planning, etc. Performed various process and mechanical calculations, optimizations, such as load reduce/rejection vs. ACC (air cooled condenser) capacity report, heat recovery from boiler bottom ash, analysis of plant runback and blackout operation conditions, bid evaluations, recommendations for mechanical equipment and systems including the steam turbine, ACC, variable speed feedwater pumps and steam turbine bypass system, ash cooler heat recover system and HMD (Heat & Mass Balance). Prepared mechanical equipment specifications, DOR (Division of Responsibility), system descriptions, control & operation requirements and DR (Deviation Request). Involved technical contract negotiations for steam turbine, CFB boiler (oil shale –fueled) and ACC. Participate in project kick-off meeting, 3D models (SP3D) review and worked on getting the recommendation items resolved and closed.

Process/Mechanical Engineer, WorleyParsons, Edmonton, AB, Canada 2005.01–2015.11 Experience Includes process / mechanical design of oil/gas plants and utilities (power generation and steam production). Syncrude Canada Ltd TR-NMSP Phase 2 Project

Engineering optimization studies, relocation four dredges and two barges from one pond to another, and installation of total 16 km 54”, 42”, 36” and 28” tailing pipelines and booster pump houses through existing collection areas. Activities include cost estimates; pipeline fluid analysis, preparation of MR’s for various mechanical equipment and pipe components, optimization study report for de-icing system and maintenance strategy plan for marine equipment, study report for diesel fuel supply system, development of floating pipeline and marine equipment layout (dredges, barges, floating dock and floating walkway) in various ponds, naval architecture scope of work and design basis for marine equipment, P&ID’s and LDTs; participation of the HAZOP, follow up and closing HAZOP recommendation items.

Syncrude Canada Ltd FFT Transfer Project

Installation of total 7 km 42” tailing pipelines and rental booster pump skid and rental dredges through existing collection areas. Activities including prepared project standards for rental pump skid and dredge, fabrication drawings for tailing pipeline components - Y-switch, lateral and bends, P&ID’s, LDTs, approved and stamp piping layout and Isometric drawings for construction, site visit and developed design basis.

Syncrude Canada Ltd TR-NMSPW/TR-NMSPE Phase 1 Projects

Installation of total 47 / 27 km 30” and 28” tailing pipelines and booster pump houses through existing collection areas. Developed cost estimates, MR’s for service work boat and dredge tender, project standard for dredge tender, optimization study for pipe material selections, standard spool drawings for pipeline, MR’s for pumps, valves, expansions, power pack, CCO spool, pipes and pipe components, P&ID’s and LDTs, piping layout and Isometrics per ASME B31.1, B31.3 and Syncrude specifications, piping layout and Isometrics, EWP Packages. Participated risk assessments and constructability review. Identified potential plant operation risks and engineering support during construction.

Syncrude Canada Ltd 900# Root Valve - Utility Boiler 203 and the 201 Project

Cost estimates and PMIS progress updates, preparation of project execution plan, quality plan and team schedule requirements, led inter-discipline reviews, prepared MR’s for 900# Root Valves & approved vendor documents. on-site construction & commissioning supports.

Fort hills pipeline project

Provided equipment specification, MR and datasheets for mainline pumps, booster pumps and sump pumps, pipe stress analysis (using Caesar II).

Syncrude Canada Ltd PSI Projects

Led project mechanical team to implement plant scope on schedule/quality/ budget, multiple discipline coordination’s, cost estimates and PMIS progress updates. Engineering review/approval on utility boilers, steam & condensate, one through steam generator, auxiliaries and water treatment. Prepared datasheets for emergency engine, steam turbine & generator, HRSG, deaerator, surface condenser, desuperheater, heat exchangers, ID fans and blowers, stacks, pressure vessels, filters, air dryer, feed water/slurry/condensate/lube oil pumps, VSD, gearbox, drums, strainer, LP natural gas heater, centrifugal/volute/diffusion/piston/gear pumps, H2 make-up compressor (9000 hp), 1st to 3 rd stage intercoolers, lube oil coolers, coolant standpipes, elutriators, reactor, cold/hot coke transfer lines, elutriator/burner overhead lines, expansion joints and reformers. Updated equipment general arrangements and vendor prints. Provided mechanical spec inputs to P&IDs, LDT’s and MD’s and recommendations to Syncrude. Checked equipment design conditions and material standards per API, ANSI, ASME and Syncrude Specifications.

H.R Milner Project - technical consultant for feasibility study - Site survey to H.R. Milner Generation Station, Grande Cache, coordinated with PCL and Sino Energy Consortium and clients at site, reviewed coal ingredients specification, STG and boiler building layouts, general site layout, project technical proposal, completed feasibility study report. attending technical coordination meetings with PCL on technical/ financial strategies.

Lead Mechanical / Process Engineer for FEED/detailed engineering design and on-site construction & commissioning support. Activities including: developed technical specifications and datasheets for boiler, steam turbine, feedwater pumps (turbine/motor driven), HP/LP heat exchangers, deaerator, pressure vessels, tanks, HP pipe accessories, steam turbine bypass system, crane, fans and crushers, belt conveyers, coal feeders/pulverizers and equipment lists, sizing various pumps, air compressors, fans, crushers, belt conveyers, deaerator and vessels, completed piping/equipment layout, involved technical contract negotiations, prepared contract documents. Lead Mechanical / Process Engineer for DBM/FEED/ detailed engineering design and on-site construction & commissioning supports. Activities including: completed discipline design criteria and design basis, PFD, P&IDs, SDD and LDT, performed thermal performance calculation for steam, water systems, prepared HMB and operating procedures. Engineering support on installation, testing, commissioning, start-ups, troubleshooting, maintenance and operation optimization. Monitored project construction budget, performance tests for steam turbine condenser.

Qinghai ChaoTou Power Plant (2 125 MW), P. R. China

Lead Mechanical/Process Engineer for FEED/detailed engineering design. Activities including: preparation of P&IDs, design basis reports, and LDTs for coal feed and pulverized, steam, condensate, feed water, closed/opened cooling water, compressed air, fuel oil, and fire protection systems, and diesel generator set.

Mechanical/Process Engineer for FEED/ detailed engineering design. Activities including: developed technical specifications, datasheets, clarifications, bid evaluations and recommendations. Activities including: prepared MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) list that provided to UN, prepared technical contract documentation for fuel oil boiler, turbine and thermodynamic systems, site survey to job site and technical contract negotiations in National Power Company, Baghdad, IRAQ.
