Managed all aspects of a company including the development of business and marketing plans, recruitment, hiring and training of staff, budgeting, P&L, scheduling work and activities, establishing policies and procedures, procurement of equipment and supplies, client relations, performance evaluations and motivation of employees.

Improved product quality by visiting my packer in China to analyze the packing process. Noted critical control points within the workflow and recommended adjustments to improve the refrigeration process. Changes made improved the food product shelf life, flavor and texture. Also identified changes in handling that would reduce breakage yielding more money for the packer and better product for us.

Pioneered and developed the procurement and sale of mullet roe within the U.S. for the International market. Analyzed lot purchases of this seasonal food from a number of geographic vendors to ascertain percentage of roe to mullet, grades, and profitability. Negotiated and developed International sales for this processed product.

Reduced operational expenses 15-20% annually through review of each expense account line item. Successfully renegotiated supplier contracts, changed workflow and/or and put in place new standard operating procedures that brought consistency to each function of the company.

Enhanced morale through promotion of a team-based work atmosphere. Provided assignments of increased responsibility along with opportunities for additional training and challenging performance incentives that encouraged a sense of ownership in the overall operation.

Owned and managed my own Florist business for 5 years. Developed business and marketing plans, hired floral designers, delivery drivers and a bookkeeper. Motivated/Mentored employees on a weekly basis and increased sales 50% within the first 2 years.

Managed all of the departments of a company including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit, Inventory, Logistics, Sales, and Human Resources. Implemented standard operating procedures for each department that boosted efficiency and profitability for the company.

Managed the importation of 80–100 containers each month from overseas. Orchestrated the documentation from packers based upon contract, Letter of Credit payments, Bank Wires, FDA and Customs Clearance paperwork in a timely manner to avoid demurrage fees. Organized the delivery and inspection of containers to public cold storage with minimal delays.

Negotiated the price, delivery schedule and annual agreement with a major US restaurant corporation having locations nationwide. Maintained a minimum of profit of 10-15% successfully for 12 years based upon market conditions and pricing.

Arranged all aspects of a product recall including review of the chain of custody, and initiation of the logistics required to move the product from our clients, back to the packer. Successfully coordinated and worked with the State of Florida to ensure all recall guidelines were followed.

Mentored a janitorial employee over a 10 year period in the speaking and writing of English. This employee became a US Citizen and Accounts Payable Specialist, and I continue to talk to her as of today.

Partnered with a website designer to create an intriguing, informational and participative website about the company. Provided the designer with information, graphics and layers of pages including company history, mission statement and all product detail by code and specifications.

Managed all aspects of the Company’s 1000 sq.ft. Trade show presence at the largest Seafood Conference Show in the US. Negotiated for booth location, lodging of booth attendees all the while coordinating the movement of product to be displayed. Designed marketing materials, give-a-ways, and even an appreciation dinner for all of our customers at this highly successful event!
