LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE
NOVI COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT, Novi, Michigan 48374 Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources (March 2013 – October 2017)
• Led a high performing human resource department that provided support and customer service to an organization with over 890 employees, 30 administrators, 12 buildings, $72 million budget and 6,600 students; maintained the high school principal responsibilities simultaneously for the first six months at central office.
• Collaborated and led initiative to support continued success in a district academically ranked in the top 5 percent and the 25th largest out of 540 public school districts in Michigan.
• Created and implemented a comprehensive, rigorous hiring process for all employee groups that incorporates research based interviews and cross collaboration with departments and district leaders.
• Elevated district performance and customer service by developing and implementing common systems in the areas of staff accountability, school health protocols, compliance requirements, Board policies and the law.
• Responsible for all staffing, including recruiting, hiring, transfers, resignations, leave of absences, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Independent Medical Exams (IME) and Worker’s Compensation.

Principal (July 2010 – August 2013)
• Responsible for all aspects of the leadership and operations of a state and nationally ranked high school offering a robust and rigorous schedule to meet the Michigan Merit Curriculum requirements and student interests.
• Led a professional faculty of four administrators,130 staff members, 14 departments and a student body of 2,025.
• Oversaw the operational cost of $11.4 million, building operations of a 500,000 square feet facility and managed a
$250,000 operational budget.
• Managed staff reductions by 8 percent and the elimination several support resources due to State School Aid cuts, while maintaining opportunities for students, continuous improvement and excellent customer care.
• Orchestrated a major structural change to the daily schedule during the educational downfall of the recession.
• Implemented the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, sheltered classes for English Language Learners and Operation Graduation to meet the academic, social and emotional needs of all students.
• Executed several initiatives and training to elevate staff leadership, collaboration and best practices leading to a 97 percent graduation rate, 84 percent graduates attending a four-year university and 23 National Merit Finalists.

• Organized and facilitated a district-wide school shooting simulation, the production of district-wide emergency manuals, CERT training and CPR/AED training.
• Served as the construction liaison during a major renovation resulting in an 156,000 square feet addition.
• Took on assistant principal responsibilities October 2006 – June 2007 to support administrative team, including the task of building the master schedule, while maintaining all Dean of Student responsibilities.
