Independent Consultant (Jan 12 till date): Currently an Independent Consultant in the battery industry. Regularly involved in providing consultations to leading battery & Power back-up equipment manufacturers in India. Teaching UG & PG curriculum of Electrical subjects in Engineering Colleges.

Chief-Product Testing, R & D Center, Exide Industries Ltd. Kolkata, (Aug 97 to Dec. 11)

Design of batteries with continuous improvement of energy density & thereby get better cost effectiveness.

Introduction of design & simulation by introducing prototype & field trials.

Design, development & verification of state of the art product ISS (Intermittent Stop Start) battery suitable for micro-hybrid vehicle. A much sturdy battery suitable for arduous application as compared to SLI (Starting Lighting Ignition) application; significantly reduces fuel efficiency of petrol & diesel vehicles and thereby reducing pollution and helping oil conservation.

Parametrization of ISS automotive battery by extracting all the battery variables during charge and discharge, mapping those to match with intelligent charging system of micro-hybrid vehicles.

Battery impedance measurement, modeling & development of Battery Monitoring System.

Introduction of Star-rating for inverter battery by defining energy efficiency in charge-discharge cycle.

Development of recharging algorithm & innovation of intelligent battery charger to optimizing recharge time, ensure full recharge, enhance battery cycle life, reduce topping up frequency.

Jointly worked with US based manufacturer for development of microprocessor based computer controlled charge-discharge cycler.

Patents granted in Japan & USA: Design patent on leak retardant automotive battery: 2003.

Published seven papers in different international conference out of which one was published in Journal of Power Sources, Ireland.
