Human Resources Officer, 08/2015 to 11/2017 (40+ hours per wk.)

Played a key role as the Human Resources Director for the OCP. Lead a staff of professional, technical, human resource and administrative staff and human capital functions, while ensuring the right balance of staff in terms of skill and experience as well as training and development opportunities are available to enhance their performance and achieve the organization’s goal and mission. I provide advice and counsel to staff, assist with recruitment process, and coordinate non-routine, costly, or controversial training needs within a unionized workforce. Oversee human resources technology optimization with the goal of transforming administrative activities from transactional processes to strategically focused business lines that directly support agency goals. Assure that human resource systems development, implementation, and project updates are undertaken in an effective and efficient manner; including monitoring and improving performance results of shared services providers.

Recommend awards for bonuses for subordinate employees as well as changes in position classification.

Evaluate new and existing programs to meet the agency’s human resource management needs to comply with agency, legal and governmental requirements.
