SELECTED RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS

● Managed all aspects of several company locations including development of business and

marketing plans, recruitment, hiring and training of staff, budgeting, P&L, scheduling

work and activities, establishing policies and procedures, procurement of equipment and

supplies, labor relations, performance evaluations and motivation of employees and supervisors.

● Reduced workers compensation and insurance costs by mentoring a number of employees

in accident and injury prevention. Met every week for a year discussing the root causes

for accidents and injuries, and how they can be prevented. Those mentored have had

no injuries and accidents since and have taken upon themselves to mentor other employees.

● Motivated new drivers during the last holiday season who experienced double the work

in a 10 hour day. Brought motivation and guidance in time management that allowed

these drivers to beat the production measurement delivering over 50,000 packages in

the last 4 days leading up to Christmas.

● Took-on the management of an operation that runs up to 20 hours per day including Saturdays. I initiated cross-training of several supervisors in all elements of the operation. This allowed a better flow of all operations and more opportunity for part-time supervisors.

● Boosted productivity through review and restructure of a comprehensive training

program for employees. Created curriculum, handouts, and delivered lecture, small group

and one-on-one instruction in employee safety and production. The success of this program

has been implemented district wide.

● Enhanced morale through promotion of a team-based work atmosphere. Provided assignments of increased responsibility along with opportunities for additional training and challenging performance incentives that encourage a sense of ownership in the overall operation.

● Took-on the response to excessive air product movement at the center and airport causing

service delays. Created new options for overloaded air product situations that analyzed

customer pick up times, and actions which could be taken to hedge said service failures. Plane delays at $5K per minute have virtually been eliminated.

● Increased revenue to the company through creation of a sales presentation for our client

who had been talking with a competitor. Built a strong case and strategic plan for why

they should continue with our services. Despite the higher costs, the strategic plan sealed

the deal with them staying with us and since has doubled in the use of our services.

● Served as a company representative to Congressman Bilirakis for 5 years. This included quarterly meetings with him or his office staff. He also made facility visits that he reviewed his activities with all of the employees. I also served as the representative for the company charity as the director for teaching teens to drive safely for the Hillsborough and Pinellas County Boys and Girls club.

● Worked with several union employees to reduce their grievances and rebuild employee relations. A couple examples include an employee who filed a $2500 liability grievance that were more than 3 years old. Initiated a face to face meeting with this employee to better understand his concerns. After meeting with the employee one on one he agreed to reduce his grievances to $200, saving the company $2300. I also eliminated over 250 grievances from one employee by working with him one on one. He agreed to withdraw all of them.

● Addressed the company’s need to have more managerial staff. Hired and mentored several

motivated employees on management and leadership skills. Many of these employees have gone to rewarding and productive careers getting promoted to supervisors and managers.

● While serving as an Account Manager I won the business of a major customer from the competitor. After several presentations and working with key decision makers, this customer produced more than $5 million of new revenue a year for the company.
