Responsible for all Plant Center Scheduling/Production activities for a three shift operation which include, Safety & Compliance, Maintenance, Training Programs, scheduling of all equipment and Quality Assurance. Responsible for developing and directing plant and project operations, utilizing knowledge of product technology, utilizing lean and six sigma practices, and productive use of human resources to achieve volume, cost, and quality control objectives. As Quality and Process Improvement Manger responsibly included monthly 5S and quality audits, the maintenance of weekly/monthly/yearly quality assurance metrics generating monthly PowerPoint presentations to review with all employees. Processing of required A3’s (root cause/correction actions) for non-conforming product generated from this facility. All quality and SOP training. Accomplishments:
Facility ranked #1 in both Manufacturing and Distribution in 2015 and 2016.
Worked directly with customers and sales on press color approvals and special projects.
Below budget on all cost lines and above on all revenue/profit lines in 2015.
Made safety the number one priority facility wide and helped develop a successful functional plant safety program. We have had 2273 days without a safety incident or lost time accident.
Helped lead the implementation of lean and 5S practices throughout the facility achieving an overall culture change improving OEE by more than 29%, achieving record low labor percentages and material cost.
Converted to a JIT system for all raw materials leading the company in inventory turns and increasing cash flow.
Implemented a SOP/GMP driven quality system reducing outside customer non-conformances to .029% and a cost of quality of .009% the best companywide.
Increased on time delivery to 99.6% in 2016 from 97.9% in 2015.
Implemented an employee Process Improvement program getting the entire plant engaged completing 62 projects saving over $288k in 2016 the best companywide.
The Monroe facility was so successful with 5S implementation; Corporate asked my team to put together a training program to train other sister facilities.
Implemented a system of total employee accountability and empowerment involving all process owners in decision making process.
Value stream mapped entire process reducing non-value added processes and increasing cycle time by more than 20%.
Helped develop plant-wide personnel objectives, productivity improvement procedures, formal preventive maintenance program, and an in-house repair program reducing machine down-time by more than 80%.
Facility implemented Green Initiative and achieved 98% Landfill free status saving $18k a year in waste management cost.
