DKSA is a privately held company which specializes in conducting consumer research pertaining to the Travel & Tourism industry. Responsibilities included overseeing the Finance, HR and Administration departments at DKSA and reporting directly to the Chairman and CEO. Joined DKSA in 1989 as an Accountant and was promoted to Comptroller within two years. In 2004, I was promoted as CFO. I managed company finances efficiently and eliminated dependence on any outside financial institution. I developed excellent oral, written and entrepreneurial skills while working in close proximity with CEO and successfully implemented many management decisions. As a member of a three-person management team, I oversaw management duties during CEO’s absence. RESPONSIBILITIES & ACHIEVEMENTS:
Leading financial planning efforts which includes
- Preparing annual budgets, revenue forecasts, capital, and total expenditures
- Preparing monthly P&L and balance sheets
- Working closely with external CPAs to finalize year-end review for financial and tax reporting
- Overseeing all payroll processing, compensation adjustments and year-end reporting
- Managing all aspects of client and vendor contracting including pricing and renewals
- Ensuring timely invoicing to clients and payment follow-up
Overseeing the Human Resources department and Administration which includes
- Reviewing and finalizing all staff hiring letters
- Maintaining all staff HR files, negotiating and finalizing staff healthcare benefits yearly
- Processing final term letters and associated benefits
- Overseeing the budgeting and negotiating for all capital expenditures, lease and supplies
Involved in strategic planning initiative which facilitated new product development, increased sales efforts, maintenance of existing clients, and investment in product enhancements
Located and finalized two company office locations in 2006 and 2016 which involved
- Negotiating favorable lease rates achieving a cost savings of nearly $50,000 in rent in the recession years
- Reviewing lease legal terms to minimize any unanticipated but potential company liability
As a management representative and a trustee of the DKSA’s 401(K) plan
- Ensuring timely dispatch of employee contributions from each of the 24 semi-monthly payrolls
- Coordinating with third party administrators for required plan audits and filings
Performing all fiduciary duties required of a plan trustee
Ensured peaceful departure of a senior employee who was found working against the interests of the company.
Renewed a large prestigious overseas contract worth over $100K which was almost lost. This undertaking required a substantial amount of time and review of foreign legal clauses and other translated materials. JAYANT B. SHUKLA
