Senior Production DBA

04/2012 – 08/2017

Cerner is an IT healthcare Company that specialize in managing hospital data. I was primarily responsible for over 100 Production, DR, Lag, Standby and non-Production Oracle databases supporting Cerner’s Millennium application. My large client boast database size of 45TB with an average of about 5500 concurrent users. All production databases are typically two node active/passive RAC clusters for High Availability with dataguard Standby Database. The following were some of my responsibilities

Responsible for project deadlines and ensuring the team meets goals set by management

Adapts existing methods and procedures to create alternative solutions to moderately complex problems

Operate in a project lead capacity on assigned projects, while managing assignments and task of junior colleagues

Installed and configured Oracle 12c/11g /10g RAC using ASM for storage

Implemented and monitored daily incremental and weekly full backups using RMAN

Performed database cloning with RMAN from production to non-production databases servers

Designed, implemented and troubleshoot Oracle Dataguard for disaster recovery
