Duties and Responsibilities
1.Greet customers appropriately. Treat all customers in a courteous manner. Ensure all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time. Responsible for completing requisitions accurately. Call clients to confirm handwritten orders, verity test(s) ordered. Obtain accurate billing information, and diagnosis codes, UPIN information, etc. Research test/client information utilizing lab computer system or Directory of Service.
2.Help with keeping the work area neat and clean. Disposes of biohazard containers when schedule. Help with the inventories and other tasks as assigned. Stock supplies as needed and answer phones and dispatches calls when needed.
3.Function as back up for the PSC supervisor as necessary and carry out duties in his/her absence. Coordinate the work of the phlebotomist in the Patient Service Centers to assure that the production is consistent and service levels are maintained. Responsible for training, coaching and providing input on the performance evaluation of the phlebotomists. Assist with relocating and opening of new facilities as necessary. Play an important role in the dissemination of information to employees. Perform site visits as assigned, and document findings. Assist in QA audits. Prepared schedules with minimal overtime and assist with time/attendance entry of employees.
