The New York Academy of Medicine, New York, NY Human Resources Generalist 2010 to 2017
Strategic right hand to HR Director, functioning as HR manager in supporting multiple internal/external business partners and interdisciplinary staff of ~100 at this health policy and advocacy organization. Work closely with director in developing, implementing and refining HR strategy. Performed broad scope of tasks related to recruiting, employee relations, internal policies and procedures, and compliance with federal and state employment regulations.
Provided Generalist support in the areas of employee relations, policy interpretation, recruitment; ensuring consistency and fairness in interpreting company policy and procedures. Acted as department head in absence of Director.
Mediated EEO complaints, disciplinary actions, and dismissals.
Facilitated revisions to company policies, including updates to employee handbook; ensuring policy updates were consistent across platforms.
Managed full cycle recruitment at all levels of the organization. Assisted in the creation of job descriptions, position posting, initial screening and referrals to management, orienting, and onboarding new hires. Performed Adverse Impact Analysis, employee turnover and salary analysis.
