The Finance E-planning system is based on 3 different modeling. They are Segmentation, Underwriter and Expense models. These models are based on Chart of accounts, departments, Line Of Business and Time Scale. Actuals are segmented using Segmentation models and Underwrite models are updated with segmented actual. Forecast and Budget are planned by users globally (EMEA, APAC, Latin America and North America) using UW and Expense models by region. Forecast and Budget are consolidated centrally using ETL and reporting.

This project is to support FP&A team to plan their Forecast and Budget globally by region.

Merck Adaytum/Cognos Management System

This project was aimed to prepare, generate and provide reports to Management & Financial Executives from data contributed by users worldwide (Asia, Europe, Middle East and North Americas) using Adaytum/Cognos Management System website. Involved in developing various models for different departments within Merck and deploy them to the web. Involved in designing and developing from scratch over 10 models, reports and 50 contributor applications using these models including websites for each. Developed customized scripts for publishing, data loads, Prepare Import & Go to Production using Visual Basic. Interacted with Cognos/Adaytum support to report and fix bugs. Involved in designing server clusters for each model to run jobs like Publishing, Loads, Prepare and GTP. Specialized in modeling, reports, product installation, Analyst security creation, Contributor Admin Console, creating scripts, building applications based on models, importing eList, users and rights. Applying access tables, saved selections, application settings, synching, publish settings & automating jobs.

Responsibilities:

Involved in Product setup, Clustering servers & Admin, Web & Analyst Server Setup

Involved in creating CUBES, DLISTS, DLINKS, Allocation tables, FILE MAPS, ODBC LIKS and MACROS.

Involved in designing Analyst models, Generating reports, Creating Data prep & Creating Macros for loading data into Contributor using Analyst 2.0/3.0/7.1

Involved in building applications, setting applications, configuring application settings, publish settings, running GTP and Synch using Contributor Admin Console 2.0/3.0/7.1

Created a COM+ interface using VB and automation scripts to run Publish, Data Load, Prepare Import & GTP

Installing Analyst on client machines, solving client side issues like opening contributor datagrid, Excel Import & Excel Print

Involved in production support activities such as importing user rights, users, eList, Access Tables, Saved Selections, Navigation & Orientation, Data Loads, Publish and Data Consolidation.
