Graduate Research Assistant at Kettering University: April 2017 - Present Supervisor: Dr. Javad Baqersad, Director NVH&EM Lab, Kettering University NVH research projects in Department of Mechanical Engineering.
• Study of dynamic response and Modal Analysis of cantilever beam The preliminary vibration study of the cantilever beam to obtain the natural frequency and modeshape of the structure so as to validate the experimental results with the analytical results.
• Modal Analysis of suspension A-arm using triaxial accelerometers Components of suspension systems are subjected to dynamic loading that varies based on road surfaces. These components are prone to fatigue and fracture failures. So, the natural frequency and modeshape of the A-arm of ATV was obtained using two triaxial accelerometers and impact testing at 30 measurement points.
• Finite Element modeling and Validation of Suspension A-arm FE model of an A-arm was developed and validated using experimental modal analysis. The FE model was developed using parabolic tetrahedral elements. An eigen-solution was performed on the finite element model to extract natural frequencies and mode shapes of the A-arm. The finite element results were correlated to the experimental results using the Modal Assurance Criterion (MAC) for validation purposes. The finite element model was modified to improve the correlation results. This model could be used for developing novel approaches for durability analysis.
• Strain Expansion in suspension A-arm through strain gages Obtaining the strain of the suspension A-arm in free-free condition using rosette strain gauge. The strain data obtained in real time are validated using the FE model of the structured using NX Nastran.
• Study of Dynamic Characteristics of Cajon Box by DIC (Digital Image Correlation) techniques The study of vibration of the Cajon box using non-contact method. The contrasting speckle patterns are made on the surface and the full field displacement of the speckle are captured using high speed cameras so as to analyze to obtain the modeshape of the vibrating panel.
• Study of vibration of Wind turbine (rotating structure) using contactless method and validation using strain gauge. Structural health monitoring of the rotating structure using non-contact vibration measurement method and validating the results with the contact method (strain gauges) in rotating structure.
