Project Description

First Data is a global card payments processing leader which provides end to end solution for payment cards which includes embossing, authentication, security, clearing, settlement, posting etc. Batch Authorization system is a decision making engine based on inputs from Authorization ticket process, debit process, Rules and fraud system. Moreover the authorization data which needs a batch attention will be processed through the batch authorization system (kind of pre edit and segregation of data) before sending for settlement, cardholder posting, statements, cardholder/Merchant billing, reporting etc.

Areas worked under the Batch Authorization system

• Batch authorization of merchant Mail Order/Telephonic order /Convenience Check requests

(Acquirer side Processing)

• Merchant month end billing/reporting process to levy the Authorization charges (Acquirer side Processing)

• Interchange/Merchant ticket data processing (A.k.a Ticket matching process) for cardholder posting (Issuer side processing)

• Batch rescoring/Real time fraud scoring for cardholder transactions using HNC/FICO modules/ models to prevent future fraudulent activities (Issuer side processing)

• Interchange fee processing/reporting for cardholder transactions (Issuer side processing)

Roles and Responsibilities

Have played active role in the projects from analysis to rollout phase of SDLC which are briefed below:

• Responsible for the preparation of design document based on the business or customer requirements

• Enhancing or coding of new Cobol-DB2/Cobol programs. Development of on demand and passer jobs as per the requirement

• Responsible to prepare the UTP (Unit Test Plan) and STP (System Test Plan) and conduct unit and end to end system testing as per the Plan

• Prepared the test data setup i.e. the test JCLs and test data for the new/enhanced programs.

• Responsible for the scheduling of Jobs and their dependencies using CA7

• Involved in Code change Impact Analysis

• Responsible for conducting Project QI with client

• Responsible for the turnover process involving staging in Endevor and creating Infoman activities

• Involved in Project Implementation phase and provided 24 x 7 post implementation support till warranty period

• Took role as a lead developer in major projects

• Worked with CA Service Desk and IBM Clear Quest to resolve issue tickets raised by testing teams

• Have regularly used Quality Center tool to track the defects that occurred in various stages of the projects

• Involved in the analysis of existing programs to improve its performance
