Hired to assist in the hiring for a couple of EnPro companies – Stemco (based in Longview, TX) and Plastomer Technologies (based in Houston). The positions recruited for included Engineers, Engineering Manager, Sales, Accounting, Director Sales & Marketing, and skilled labor. Some of the tools used were Monster, CareerBuilder, Ladders.com, university web-sites, Boolean Searches, agencies, and non-profit job assistance agencies to find candidates. Also set up a relationship with Lone Star College/Cy-Fair to provide a pipeline of CNC Machinist candidates.

Duties included performing phone interviews with potential candidates. Qualified candidate were forwarded onto the hiring managers Scheduled interviews and interview panels for management with candidates. Made offers to candidates the company wanted to hire.

Other responsibilities included keeping track of candidates for HR, perform background checks, and scheduled pre-employment screenings.

Universal Compression Dec ’05 - Oct ‘06

Rehired by Universal, on a Consultant basis, to assist in hiring mechanics for the different offices around the country. Techniques used to meet the needs of each office was to run ads in local newspapers as well on some web-sites, attended job fairs built relationships with local military bases and recruiters that specialize in those leaving the military. Started relationships with different schools in the appropriate areas in order to build a pipeline of candidates for current as well as for future needs. Attended various schools Career Days. Highlights:

Performed training for district offices in hiring techniques and to make them aware of the hiring procedures. With this effort we were able to decrease the time of making an offer to a candidate and getting them started from 7 – 10 days down to a 3 – 5 days wait.

Worked closely with the HR Generalists in meeting the needs of their respective clients within the company.

Worked closely with the various HR personnel with the different companies that Universal bought to make sure that hiring practices were uniform.
