To obtain a Biologist position in which my commercial fishing background, education in fisheries, and knowledge of biology can be utilized.
2Summary
I have attained a professional/technical education and experience in fisheries pertaining to aquatic biology and ecosystems. I've also had time spent as a fisheries technician working both in the field and lab. Recently I graduated from UAF with a bachelor of science in fisheries, and have since been pursuing a full time career in the fisheries industry.
Selected Skills, Related Knowledge and Experience
●Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors collecting, measuring, and recording scientific data.
●Preformed stream improvements, fish sampling, DIDSON sonar, creel/spawning surveys, and water quality monitoring.
●Field experience in collecting age, sex, and length samples on fish species.
●Able to identify both marine, freshwater, and anadromous species of Alaska.
●Experiences operating and maintaining nets, traps, data loggers, and routinely perform scientific data analysis on information gathered in the field.
●Familiar with creating brief reports associated with scientific sampling data and protocol.
●Proficient in computers hardware, software, and program use (creating charts, graphs, spreadsheets, and figures).
●Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
