Summary

Having over eighteen years of organic analytical and extraction experience (SW 846 and drinking water methods), extensive knowledge of various laboratory techniques, and on top of that have training for the handling of hazardous materials as well as a Hazmat DOT certification. In addition during my career I have been part of the management team, and have taken part in method development in one fashion or another, with problem solving capabilities along with dealing with internal clientele and vendors. Recently had been part of the start up crew bringing the new waste treatment facility on line at Solo Point, adding to the skills on my resume, and furthering a skill set as an analytical scientist.

Experience

Lab Technician (October 2016-October 2017)

(Aerotek) CDM Smith (Solo Point Wastewater Treatment Plant Building 2012 Fort Lewis, Washington 98433)

Duties included the collection of process and performance samples for the waste treatment facility for internal examination as well as to be sent out to a third party laboratory.

The processing and analysis of the fore mentioned samples, using color-metric on a spectrophotometer and gravitational means on a four place analytical balance.

Entering the resulting data points into various databases and send out the reports to essential personnel.

Collecting process data from various points of the plant as well as other operational duties.

Taking part in planning meetings for the facility.

Chemist I (1998 –2016)

Experience performing analysis: using High Performance Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC), Gas Chromatograph (GC both FID and PID), for semi-volatile organic compounds. Also used a four-place balance for the testing oil and grease, and a pH meter for adjusting the pH of samples prior to extraction.

Extraction of semi-volatile organic compounds from soils, water, oil, plant and animal tissue, human serum and foodstuffs, and I am familiar with many of the EPA SW846 and several of the EPA drinking water methods. LIMS system proficient using Microsoft: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, for presentations, writing draft SOPs, injection logs, and analysis of resulting chromatography using QEDIT.

Duties also included training new employees for; extraction and analytical methodology and been part of method development teams.

A valuable member of the spill response team, hazardous waste management. And assisted in the training of the spill response team and waste management.

Team supervisor and a member of the safety committee.
