National Oil Spill Detection & Response Agency (NOSDRA) Nov 2008 – Till Date Principal Environmental Scientist and Head of Department for Oil Field Assessment Department, Lagos Zonal Office

• Responsible for the coordination of the activities of the OFA Department at the zonal level

• Coordination of adequate and timely response activities of oil spill incidences by ensuring that best available techniques in oil recovery and clean-up are adhered to,

• Monitoring of the activation and review of Oil Spill Contingency Plans to ascertain its effectiveness in the event of an oil spill and to give recommendations to improve the plan when necessary,

• Supervision of oily waste management activities of facilities to reduce the adverse effects of the wastes on the environment through safe disposal methods and adherence to relevant environmental standards within the states and in the country,

• Planning and execution of quarterly HSE/Stakeholders meetings with more than eighty (80) operators and stakeholders to improve on the existing relationship with relevant stakeholders and expose them to current techniques in the field,

• Monitoring and certification of remediation activities in adherence to stipulated policies, guidelines and standards of the country,

• Group-team leader of compliance monitoring visits (inspections) to Tank Farms, Jetties, Oily Waste Operators and Blending Plants to evaluate their environmental awareness and their preparedness to respond to oil spill incidences.

• Management of community complains and conflict resolution by mediating between host communities, oil operators and government agencies or parastatals to ensure that all parties are play their roles objectively.

Severn Trent Laboratories, Coventry, UK Jan 2007 – Oct 2007 Team Leader/ Supervisor (Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory) Became a Supervisor in one of UK’s top Environmental Laboratories in less than seven months of being in the firm as opposed to the norm of spending a year before being one. Responsible for supervision of 30 lab technicians with roles and achievements such as:

• Ensured targets and KPI’s of at least 95% were met;

• Achieved 95% and 100% performances in Environmental, Health & Safety and Service & Production Audits as compared with 85% performances in both in the previous year;

• Provided a suitable working environment for the team;

• Ensured the resources needed in the lab were provided within a specified budget and maintained at least 20% savings;

• Ensured that the environmental, health and safety rules and regulations were adhered to and continuously improved;

• Carried out a three-month Environmental Management System (EMS) research into a Café’s successful adoption of ISO 14001

• A six-month research into the Effective Reduction of the Energy Consumption, Applicable Mitigation Measures and Sustainable Practices at the Engineering building of Coventry University with the aid of ISO 14001
