G&W Electric ~ R&D Engineer {Sterling} 6/15~9/15

Development, design and engineering support, medium Voltage electric utility distribution equipment (15kV to 25kV).

Enhanced the specifications for the existing product offerings. Integrated the conceptual parts/ assemblies, preliminary design and testing for the technical review and product rollout. Pro-e Creo 2.

Design/ Layout of industrial dust collector systems for new equipment and existing plant upgrades.

Argonne National Laboratory APS ~ Mechanical Engineering consultant {Espo} 7/12~9/13

Development, design and engineering of equipment and facilities, to meet the project specifications. Integrated the conceptual parts and assemblies for the technical reviews. Supported 10 discipline leads responsible for the level 4 deliverables for SPX (Short Pulse X-ray). Some of the tasks were related to design Liquid Helium and Nitrogen cryogenic transfer lines, De-Ionized water system (P&ID and layout models), High level RF waveguide routing, ICD documents, identifying conflicts and their solutions, develop a plan for installation, routing, configuration and facilities space and installation requirements for various departments. The APSU/SPX project was cancelled in Aug. 2013, the accelerator project was re-scoped/revised to create a "multi-bend achromat" magnetic lattice. SPX a $70 million segment of the $393 million APS upgrade project. (SPX are Superconducting, liquid helium cooled RF deflecting cavities that make a higher resolution X-ray pulse installed inside of a cryostat installed into the existing APS storage ring.

CNH ~ Product Development Engineering-Drive train {PDS} 2/12~7/12

Product Development/ Mechanical engineering of mechanical and hydraulic transmission components, electro- hydraulic, structural components/ assemblies for the undercarriage/ chassis for tracked construction equipment such as bull dozers and skid steer loaders. Gears, shafts, bearings, weldments, sheet metal parts, test fixtures for life test programs. At CNH (FIAT) Pro-e Wildfire 4, Siemens Team center were used.

Prime UV Inc. ~ Product Development Engineering 8/08~10/11

Development, research, design and engineering of UV curing reactor process equipment, conceptual parts, assemblies, prototypes and testing. Pro-e, AutoCAD and CFDesign. Developed the RADMAX series a 41,000 watt, 68” long arc length HID UV reactor, designed a homogenous cooling system. When the prototype was tested on a Goss Uniliner doublewide printing press (Nantes France), it reach 80k iph an industry first for UV in a NON-inert environment. Developed a UV disinfection treatment reactor design for wastewater, utilizing UVcalc.

ASI - Emerson Network Power ~ Mechanical design engineer {Volt} 6/07~8/08

Design, layout/detailing of test equipment, sheet metal parts for switchgear and generator control upgrade modifications. Revise 1 line and 3 line electrical schematics for new equipment into existing systems, mission critical backup power generation systems. Typically mission critical uses for hospitals, financial institutions and data centers.

Soldwisch Design ~ Design and Development, Construction management, General Contractor 10/05 ~ 6/07

A house fire in 2005 and subsequent contractor problems motivated me to take the reconstruction/ restoration over and the meticulous reconstruction of our residence. I also took on some design, engineering and development projects as Soldwisch design contract work. Completed a PTC certified PRO-E Wildfire 3 course TRN-1803-T.

BLAC Inc. ~ Product Development Engineering-Client commissioning assistance 1/01~10/05

Buyout of contract job. Product Development/ Mechanical engineering of electro-hydraulic equipment, systems integration into existing facilities. Skid mounted self contained hydraulic power/ control units for power generation, refining and pipeline markets. P&ID, hydraulic/ electrical schematics, design and commission our new equipment and the commissioning of our client’s equipment, problem resolution, training the plant personnel.
