This was a nine week Intern Practicum that was a requirement for graduation. I filled in as an actual Counselor during this internship and displayed all the leadership roles as so. On a daily went over the curriculum for a class of 10 female residents on how to utilize their coping skills. I put on the role of not only a counselor, but also one with authority. I was to report back to the lead counselor with residents that were not compliant with rules and regulations of the facility. Once a week I met up with the counseling team, which consisted of the other counselors and probation officers. It was during that time that the residents were either held back in phase or phased up, with transitioning out of the facility being the ultimate phase. Twice a week transported residents that met criteria to AA/NA classes outside the facility.
