SunSystem Technology (SST Construction) May 2017 – January 2018

Human Resource Director

Reported to CEO/COO of 300-person service, construction and solar energy organization. Collaborates with Executives to plan and meet needs for rapid growth of a renewable energy construction and maintenance business to include sourcing and creation of multi-state employment practices, benefits, and employee engagement solutions. Creates a robust proactive and people-oriented culture based on strong employee engagement and leadership and management development and mentoring.

Built HR Department from ground up growing organization from 50 to over 300 people. Three direct reports.

Successfully led an accelerated HRIS selection and implementation to replace manual efforts for Applicant Tracking System, Performance Management, and Performance Evaluation, People Reporting, reducing equivalent one FTE effort while improving accuracy by 75% and processing/lead time by 125%.

Systematized all levels of employees’ compensation, benefits, health and safety to include creation of job families, salary bands and measures to insure fair/equitable employment offers.

Promoted from California HR Manager to Senior HR Manager to Regional Senior HR Manager. Led strategic HR partnership for six major national multistate customer contact centers supporting site operations leaders and local HR direct report staff (4,000-person group.) Led a wide range of corporate initiatives and projects to include major reinventions of HR dashboard metrics, attendance policies, optimized scheduling, and other high impact policies (security, benefits, time off programs, employee recognition) that saved millions of dollars of unnecessary people hours. Mentored with and provided onboarding training for newly hired regional HR Managers.

Reduced employee attendance attrition by 45% through innovative “holistic attendance” program and holistic based performance management decreasing unscheduled turnover by 25%.

Led many Organizational Development initiatives, assessing organizational climate, needs assessments, surveys and focus groups. Led employee engagement teams to implement process improvements and increase call handling efficiency by 20%.

Vetted and replaced defined benefit plan and instituted new 401K Plan saving over $500,000 in costs.
