Professional experience:

April - September 2017 Position: MSc. Research project researcher in biofilm detection.

University College Cork, School of Chemistry, Western R.d, Kane Building.

Advanced the HPLC-UV detection procedure through optimising the mobile phase %, pH, buffer type and concentration, flow rate, temperature, injection volume and analyte concentration.

Executed the method validation by evaluating the limit of detection, reproducibility, repeatability and linearity parameters.

I decreased reagent waste by 70% while testing a longer HILIC column.

I presented the continuing project at Tyndall National Institute to 60 staff and students.

February - June 2016 Position: BSc. Research project researcher

Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, Biochemistry Department, Dublin R.d, Galway.

Implemented a new procedure to improve the expression and purification of a recombinant protein.

Achieved the expected results by performing SDS-PAGE, nickel affinity chromatography and size exclusion chromatography.

I performed the Bradford protein quantification assay amongst other colorimetric assays.

December 2014 - July 2015 Position: Placement Medical Scientist.
