second-generation robotic welding equipment. Ensured proper allocation of engineering support and maintenance technicians on a 24/7 schedule. Managed and tracked inventory of equipment and parts. Negotiated service contracts with vendors; approved new contracts and renewals. Audited onsite safety and scope performance of contractors.

Drove modernization of a second-generation robotic welding station and designed a patent-pending twin-torch fixture which doubled workstation output.

Reduced welding gas costs 90% by analyzing consumption, redesigning and upgrading infrastructure and implementing gas supply system upgrades. Achieved a $500K+ annual operating cost reduction.

Alstom Power, Chattanooga, TN

Senior Manufacturing Engineer - 2011 to 2014

Conducted time studies, observing and analyzing production processes to identify opportunities for optimizing efficiency, safety, and cost. Created solutions, influenced change, and launched follow-up studies to confirm achievement of desired results. Completed capital project proposals and led workstation modernization and new-equipment installation.

Installed the first robotic welding station on the production floor, including coordinating all in-house tooling and fixture design functions on the first- and second-generation stations.

Modernized the tube bender tool handling system, reducing labor from 16 man-hours per tooling change to 1 man-hour. Reduced lost-time injuries from an average of four per year to zero reported injuries.

Launched the introduction of new tube swaging equipment, including updating the work center, redesigning the furnace conveyor system, and designing a tool storage system, tool handling devices, work platforms.
