Previous Duties and Responsibilities

Conducted regular Safety Awareness Training for all departments.

Developed risk assessments, Safe Working Procedures (SWP) and method statements.

Reviewed and managed the safety files for all contract work on site.

Ensured that the mandatory occupational health and safety agreements were entered into between the principal contractor and contractors prior to work being permitted on site.

Continuously identified and evaluated risks that the employees were exposed too. Thereafter evaluated and analyzed the risks identified and ensured that the risk assessments were then communicated to the workforce.

Disciplined employees that disregarded safety, health and environmental regulations on site.

Conducted regular fire prevention exercises, drills and assisted with mock emergency evacuations.

Prepared the site emergency evacuation plan and communicated the plan with all supervisors and contractors.

Completed WCA/COIDA documentation and provided input on the Umehleko System [DOL] for an immediate event number.

Conducted a thorough accident investigation and subsequently communicated the findings to management.

Compiled monthly man hour and injury reports.

Managed and ensured that all employees were inducted prior to granting permission to work on site. The safety induction will inform all employees about the hazards prevalent on site and provide training with respect to the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Fire Fighting equipment.
