Accomplishments

Planned, directed, coordinated and assigned manpower to efficiently meet facility production requirements to meet client demand on a timely basis through effective associate training/development while delivering uncompromised quality in the safest and lowest cost possible.

Managed manufacturing staff comprised of 5 Production Supervisors for 2nd shift operations including Buyer’s Remorse, Kitting, Receiving, and Metro (NTF) Departments with an hourly work crew of over 180 individuals through continued improvement efforts that have met and exceeded departmental and corporate objectives.

Coached and trained the departmental leaders and hourly workforce in upstart operations on 2nd shift in order to deliver world class service to our clients.

Increased recondition rates for devices from 6% to average of 18% by introducing new machine initiatives and process improvements in 2017. Yield% was similarly improved from 75% to 82% in Recondition Department bringing about better profits and improving quality along the way.

Led 2nd shift to improved results in our Safety and Process audits by working closely with our Training Department to maintain ongoing OJT training and coaching leaders to uphold high standards and holding them accountable.

2015 to Present Operations Manager –Second and Weekend Shift Operations

Assurant Solutions Dallas, TX

Accountable for driving facility-wide results in 2nd shift and Weekend Shift for cell phone and tablet processing facility by meeting all safety and productivity objectives with the lowest cost and within desired quality and quantity parameters. Manage team of 5 supervisors with dotted line responsibility for another 3 supervisors in triage operations involving an hourly workforce of up to 210 hourly individuals. Led the successful start-up efforts of the second shift by hiring as many as 300 associates for our largest department, Buyer’s Remorse, and ensured proper training was provided for all of them. Coached the new team of 5 supervisors to ensure proper employee relations and secure results.

Sam’s Club (Division of Wal-Mart) Irving, TX

Manage new, start-up facility (commissary) for Sam's Club assembling a variety of high-quality fresh pizzas for the distribution to more than 115 stores in 5 states. My objective was to take a new concept and develop it into a viable program for the company. I interviewed, selected, and trained all salaried and hourly workforce of 75 associates. Full P&L responsibility for facility with sales in excess of $6.5 million. Engaged in daily performance reporting and conceived new tracking tools.

1998 to 2001 Plant Manager

Mrs Baird’s Bakeries (Division of Bimbo Bakeries USA) Dallas, TX

Managed a staff of 5 supervisors overseeing Production, Maintenance, Sanitation, and Transport/Garage areas. Ensured the efficient operations that resulted in high quality and timely distribution of products. Responsibilities included product quality, safety, capital forecasting, P&L responsibility, budgets, goal setting, consumer response system, cost containment and reduction of waste. Reduced workmen's comp costs by more than $115,000 in 2000. Member of research team that found solution to equipment/inventory problem that saved company over $650,000 during first year alone. Improved annual Employee Satisfaction Survey numbers in 2000 by 13.8% from previous year and streamlined operations by eliminating 7 positions that saved the company over $180,000 annually.
