I have worked in the research environment for many years and was involved fifteen years in the data processing department. I was directly involved in the capturing / verification department over 10 years and thereafter became Supervisor for the data capturing department. Worked in the logistics department for almost a year. Was the designated driver for over 3 years and spent time within the production department assisting with all chores pertaining to printing and freighting documents and products to all field areas.

Capturing of questionnaires on to portable computers. Captured onto MPA program.

Scripted and tested program before capturers started projects.

Scripts for each project are unique and are customized according to questionnaire.

ASCI data saved on drive and transferred (peeled) to a quantum program for programmers to work with dirty data.

Capturing of data had to be accurate and correct because verification of data was only done on half the sample.

Data captured was totally numeric values.

Benchmark speeds was expected to be around 5000 key strokes an hour for a capturer and expected verification around 9500 key strokes.

Current capturing packaged used is the dimensions program which is being done globally by TNS. Capturing data on a live script via the internet or alternatively capturing off line. Data which is captured via the internet is saved on the server and could be accessed globally.

The advantage of this program was that data was produced error free.

Capturing scripts written and tested by programmers.

Testing of final scripts to ensure capturing was speedily and efficient.

Capturing links received from companies globally was my responsibility to ensure that the link was working perfectly and error free.
