I’m a state engineergeophysicist, i have been involved in all aspects of drilling fluids, as a drilling fluids engineer, i worked with the main oil and gas exploration and development companies in Algeria since july 2007 to March 2013.

From April 2013 till December 2014, I was a drilling fluids engineer in sultanate of Oman with ABRAJ energy Services company, Oman oil exploration and production project in Block 60 ABUBUTABULHPHT Gas field.

From January 2015 till now, i’m drilling fluids engineer with Abraj energy services affected to PDO HPHT Gas field in Burhan, Saihrawl and saihnihyda.

Experienced in: Exploration and development fields, shallow and deep gas wells.

I have an excellent command of Oil based mud: low & high mud weights, various OWR (70/30 to 90/10), Diesel invert emulsion & low toxicity invert emulsion, Kcl polymers mud, gel polymers mud,polyoilglycol mud,non damagingkcl polymers mud, HPHT Kcl/polymers glycol mud, Nacl/kcl polyamine PHPA mud, silicate mud, MI OBM and completion brine, .

Since April 2013, i joined ABRAJ LLC in Sultanate of Oman, affected to Block 60 in ABUBUTABUL, OMAN OIL development field where i work as a drilling fluids engineer until December 2014, my responsiblywas: Participate on rig acceptance, make a request for chemicals needed on site, prepare the mud, check the efficiency of solid control equipment, monitor the volumes and follow the drilling procedures on gas wells, follow the drilling operations and maintain the mud parameters in a good rang according to the program, follow the geology and hole conditions, coordinate with the base and prepare all the reports: daily report, stock, end of the well report and tickets.

Assist the mud tester night and day to ensure a good running of drilling fluid, participate on the HSE program of the company, and focus on the behaviour of the company.

During this period i worked on this following wells:

ABB#29, ABB#32, ABB#34, ABB ABB#41, ABB#44, : total depth 4550m-5113m, drilling fluids used : PHB spud mud – Nacl/Kcl polymers mud – Kcl/ HT polymers/Glycol mud, completion brine.

As a senior drilling fluids engineer, i was affected to GSA development project in RHOURD MESSAOUD, ZEMLET ADREG and BIR REBAA, SIF FATIMA Algeria oil fields to work with Saipem contractor rigs(Saipem#5832-Saipem#5894), my duties was:mixing all kind of drilling fluids needed on site, managed chemical store and stock, requested for chemicals needed, Run and maintained the drilling fluids in correct parameters rang, made mud sample analyses and data interpretation, mud volume management, mechanical treatment of the mud, storage and transfer of the mud at the end of the well to a new location, waste management supervisor on site (personnel, dryer(VORTEX), centrifuges and oil-water separator(SKIMMER) ).

Assisted the night drilling fluids engineer and trainee mud engineers sent on location.

Ensured coordination and communication with all services companies, contractors, client and the base

Ensured whole kind of reporting.

During this period of time, i worked on different wells with Saipem#5832 and Saipem#5859 rigs, where encountered practically the same problems: partial to total loss at plus minus 300m depth witch always controlled by pumping loss circulation materials or cement plugs, also problem of salt formation stuck (Cenomanian lithology) at plus minus900m witch controlled by pumping pills of fresh water through the salt formation and dissolve salt and unstuck

I requested chemicals and equipments needed for services on site.I suggested solutions for problems encountered like: mud contamination due to gypsum, contamination due to Co2 gas, polymers degradation due to temperature, the use of tracer for best fluid management while drilling, caving problem.

I always made a pilote test before mixing a new mud to have an idea before mixing on tanks.

Always interact with other companies’ crew to learn about drilling equipments, procedures and everything about drilling.
