CENTRAL PURPOSE OF PONDICHERRY PLANT:

“Design, develop, manufacture, distribution and customer support of Fuses, UPS, MCB, RCD & combiner box with lowest manufacturing cost, highest quality and quick delivery exceeding both domestic and intercompany customer expectations.

CORE OBJECTIVE OF CI

To set lean culture throughout out the plant

Reduction of wastes (Non- value added activities) in the process.

Implemented CIF (Continuous Improvement Framework) Modules on the shop floor

Cost out activity

To conduct various training programs on lean manufacturing tools and to educate employees the intent about the tools

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Introduced 5S culture over the plant.

Shop floor performance analysis through Tier board meetings by considering the constraints in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Efficiency and Productivity.

To conduct Tool box meetings to clear the doubts arising for the shop floor people regarding lean tools (i.e.) 5S+, Kaizen, etc...

Owning and conducting daily basis Tier board meeting in the shop floor to take recommended corrective actions for the problems arising.

To achieve and complete monthly target on Kaizen projects and to recognize the people who are engaged for the completion of projects.

AREA OF INTEREST:

Quality control

Continuous Improvement projects such as Kaizen, Rapid Improvement Events.

7QC tools, Why-Why analysis

ACHEIVEMENTS:

Implemented Kaizen Blitz in shop floor and achieved targeted kaizens projects.

Successfully Completed 70 KAIZEN projects by undergoing Gemba walk and various studies on lean tools.

Improved overall 5S plant score and achieved the target level.

Introduced 5S thermometer on the shop floor to indicate visual display in 5S score at each line.

Owning ownership and conducted an event named 5S Marathon to expose the importance and knowledge about the 5S culture to the employees under the Guidance.
